Our Christian outdoor farm school is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic educators to help lead our nature-based classes. This is a unique opportunity to work with children in a hands-on, faith-filled environment on a working farm. We are currently filling Lead Teacher, and Substitute positions with multiple shifts available.

Schedule & Location:

• Primary Shifts: Tue/Wed/Fri (8:30 AM – 2:30 PM), 
• Afterschool Program: Potential for hours from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on weekdays.
• Location: San Juan Capistrano, CA
• Compensation: (Depends on experience and role)

Position Overviews

1. Lead Teacher

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall flow of the day and the delivery of the curriculum.

• Key Duties: Plan and execute daily lessons focused on animal care, wilderness skills, and gardening; manage classroom dynamics; and serve as the primary point of contact for parents during drop-off and pick-up.
• Requirement: Previous experience leading a classroom or youth program is required.

2. Substitute Teacher (On-Call)

We are looking to build a reliable list of substitutes to fill in for Lead or Assistant roles as needed.

• Ideal For: Those with flexible schedules who love our mission but cannot commit to a weekly set of shifts. You will be notified of openings as they arise.

General Responsibilities

• Safety & Supervision: Actively supervise students to ensure their well-being in an outdoor, rustic farm setting.
• Hands-on Learning: Facilitate activities involving animal care (sheep, goats, chickens), gardening, and nature-based crafts.
• Stewardship: Foster a positive, calm, and engaging atmosphere that encourages students to respect nature and one another.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous work with children in a classroom, camp, or ministry setting is required.
• Passion: A genuine love for nature, animals, and outdoor education is essential.
• Character: Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude are a must.
• Background: Must be able to pass a background check. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

4.Part-Time Farm Hand / Property Runner Needed 

Soaring Chicken Farm Ministry is looking for a reliable, hands-on Property Runner to join our team part-time (approx. 4–8 hours per week). This is a consistent position perfect for someone local to SJC who enjoys being outdoors and working around animals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Logistics: Weekly feed runs (picking up/unloading animal feed) and local errands for farm supplies.

Maintenance: Routine site cleanup, watering, and assisting with small property projects.

Waste Management: Weekly dump runs and RV utility servicing.

Support: General "handyman" help to keep the farm safe and functional for our animals.

Requirements:

Must have a reliable truck 

Ability to lift 50+ lbs (feed bags, etc.).

Consistency and clear communication are a must.

Must be comfortable working around livestock (goats, chickens, and a large guard dog).

Pay: $25/hour
